Great potential not realized

The concept of the heavenly DCC could work. The sets and costumes are very good. The leads are fine actors and very attractive, but the story just isn't interesting enough. Comparing different methods of matching couples should have been great fun, but it really wasn't.Early on we learn of a "Legacy of soulmate matches," (matches from past generations) which was a great idea, and should have been fully explored. It should have been the core of the movie. Vintage clothing and settings would have possibly been the makings of a classic.Unfortunately the romances we witnessed in the movie were not very interesting or humorous, and bouncing between them caused the movie to have no flow. It was actually hard to follow, which should not happen in this kind of movie.The lack of any chemistry at all among any of the characters is the final nail in the coffin. What could have been great was hard to finish. I actually looked forward to the commercials.This basic outline can work. It would be a shame to abandon it. A sequel with new couples to match and more humor would be welcome.2025 Hallmark C-

Somewhat unusual

The plus side for this movie is that it wasn't exactly the same old usual stuff. I don't know how closely related it is that it had some weird vibes and not always good ones.For about half the movie I really did not like Monica. She was way too stuck on herself and a little mean about it which is not a good look for a heavenly angel. Nor did I warm up to Michael for a while. It seemed like he was baiting Monica.For rating a movie like this, dialogue and chemistry are common factors. Usually good banter between the leads is a plus for both. These two had banter, but until about half way through the movie the banter had a sharp edge to it. That meanness didn't give me a good feel for chemistry. Usually when the chemistry is good, the banter has a fun feel to it,One thing seemed predictable to me and it did work out that way despite it being perhaps counterintuitive , Other than that, the plot seemed convoluted at times.When holiday movies pile up and 90% of them seem to be the same old stuff, this movie does offer a nice diversion in that sense, but I thought the divisions where there should have been harmony left me with a bad taste.

Well...

I watched it after reading all the reviews, and it wasn't as bad as I expected. Yeah, it was really stupid, but there's been worse. Remember that one where you slept with a cookie under their pillow to find true love?I really watched for Amanda Jordan, with her amazing blue eyes. She's actually an accomplished musician as well as an actress, not that she gets to show it.Meghan Ory has always been one of my favorites, and she bears most of the responsibility for this because she wrote it. Not a huge Benjamin Ayres fan, but they actually worked pretty well together. I think they accomplished what they set out to do, which was make a light little comedy with no substance. I don't blame people for dissing it. But there have been worse.Four.
