Unbearable to watch

I really wanted to love this film and was intrigued by the premise but the main character is just so intrinsically unlikeable she made it impossible to watch. What made it even worse is that her hair looked like it just looks like been cut by a blind person using a knife and fork meaning that it was all I could focus on. The even more ridiculous thing was that the guy she's meant to be paired with is so camp it's impossible not to believe that he comes out at some point. But I wouldn't know as I never made it to the end. Don't waste a precious 1 hour 45 minutes of your life watching this. In fact don't even waste 10 minutes of your life watching it.

Quirky and worth pushing through

As some other reviewers have commented, this movie starts out a little rough. However, it's worth pushing through the cringe of all-too-relatable awkwardness, assuming you're not looking for a serious film.

It's wacky, there are hijinks, there are dumb Australian jokes and references you won't understand unless you grew up here, and there's romance. Sure, the science behind the premise is extremely questionable, but it's a rom-com, folks. It's not trying to be accurate, it's trying to tell a funny story about two humans experiencing character development - and it does that really well.

The two movies are completely different, but if you enjoyed Palm Springs (and its wacky romance set in improbable circumstances) you'll probably like this too.
