Absolutely outstanding.

A Kind of Kidnapping is a razor-sharp, darkly comic triumph that manages to feel both timely and timeless. From start to finish, this film delivers with incredible confidence, propelled by brilliant performances from all of the lead actors. The casting could not have been more spot on-each character felt perfectly inhabited, as though the roles were written specifically for this cast. Their chemistry is electric, their delivery nuanced, and their timing immaculate, capturing both the humour and tension with absolute finesse. The writing is clever, incisive, and laced with wit, walking the fine line between satire and sincerity. It's a film that makes you laugh, think, and wince in equal measure.Technically, the film is a masterclass in subtle craftsmanship. Lighting, sound, and camera work all work in seamless harmony to elevate the storytelling without ever drawing attention away from it. Every frame is considered, every sound cue deliberate. The overall production quality punches well above its weight, supporting the narrative beautifully without ever overshadowing the actors or script. What stands out most is the collaboration evident in every aspect of the film. This is a true ensemble effort-smart, cohesive, and full of heart. It's one of those rare pieces where it's hard to imagine anyone else doing it better. A wickedly entertaining slice of satire, delivered with precision and passion.I would wholeheartedly recommend A Kind of Kidnapping. If you get the chance to see it, take it.

Best film I've seen so far this year ?

Absolutely brilliant film. Great writing and incredibly precise casting- not sure any other 3 actors could have made this any better. Very funny and dark at the same time. Such a clever, entertaining piece of team work. Characters were believable and their motivations totally identifiable with, especially in this post Boris world of popularist politicians and struggling twenty somethings. Would highly recommend this film as well worth watching, I really hope it reaches a wider audience and the writer and cast receive the recognition they deserve. Would definitely make the effort to go and watch it again.
