ransom vampire kidnapping halloween dark comedy monster movie

Plot summary

A group of criminals kidnap a teenage ballet dancer, the daughter of a notorious gang leader, in order to obtain a ransom of $50 million, but over time, they discover that she is not just an ordinary girl. After the kidnappers begin to diminish, one by one, they discover, to their increasing horror, that they are locked inside with no normal little girl.

Love the premise, wish the trailer didn't ruin it

Has moments that are truly eye-popping!

Now that I've seen this I can understand all the warnings on here to avoid the trailers and I can understand why. I had no idea what this was about other than it involved a young girl who is kidnapped, much to the eventual dismay of said kidnappers. Not having a clue where this was going help immensely with the surprise factor. This thing is good, bad, too long due to a back story, absolutely bonkers, wild, crazy, bloody, corny, gory, exciting and fun! Its setup is what I stated, but from there on in, you are on your own here. The cast is pretty good. The title character, the little girl, is wonderfully played by Alisha Weir. Dan Stevens plays one of the kidnappers and this guy is becoming a chameleon with his variety of roles. Here he is mean, internally ugly and pretty much a sleazeball type. Kevin Durand as a dim muscleman is funny as are a lot of things in this smorgasbord of a horror film. There are a few things that are just stupid, but it's a little hard to tell what is intentional as opposed to just poor writing. As I never watch TV anymore, I had never seen Angus Cloud before. Hard to tell much about him from this, but he does play a loser here very well. If you like horror films, ya gotta see this!

Good movie but...

I wish you could isolate the spoiler part of a review instead of just needing to hide the entire thing. That being because I mostly just have generalized praise for this movie.A tried and true formula of a comedy horror. It balances both almost perfectly. It doesn't try too hard to be either or and loses it identity. It's simply entertaining through and through. The movie never lags and starts to feel boring.With that being said the ending is very dumb but I can't bring myself to lower the rating over it.So our lead teams up with the vampire at the end to kill the now turned former ally. This part is just silly and dumb for multiple reasons. After this has happened she acts as if she totally now trusts the vampire who spent the entire movie playing mind games. Yeah, lets just completely forget about the part where she lured you here as cattle with the intention of murdering and eating you. You can totally trust her now. It was equally as stupid that all of a sudden the vampire develops a moral compass and refuses to not only kill her but then protects her when her father shows up. Literally the entire reason she was selected is because of people the father perceived to have hurt his business.I just thought it very odd the ending fumbled that badly. Not only was there ZERO reason for her to trust them. But absolutely zero reason for them to let her go. A quick end double kill would've been predictable but way better than what we got.
