Plot summary

Denis went into the office Friday morning. Ten minutes later he was fired and his entire world changed. As a man in mid-life crisis, he believed there has to be more to life than this. A stray dog in the park opens his eyes.

a man. his purpose

Many reasons to discover this very special film. First , Steve Calahan giving fair portrait to his character, a middle age man easy to recognize among the frustrations, bad days, relations with others , fears about the health of mother and reserves about relation with the partner and need of sense of life after a very easy dismissal in slices/ crumbs of our lives.For noble purpose o a man looking for a fair work for him.For dogs.For sensitive themes, from loss of job, idealistic cause to save dogs, a home job as consultant, loss of son and help for the other.And for the inspired storytelling.Easy to see it as sentimental film. No doubts, it represents more. It is a remind about significant facts defining us. Maybe a manifesto. The point - it can be just useful to see it for you.

Must See Film

First I want to say that I will not give away any spoilers in my review. This film, as well as director Paul Bright's other films, is an alternative to the crop of gay themed films that are out there. Abrupt Decision has a complete story line, good acting, believable characters and not filled with a bunch of non acting eye candy. The story revolves around the main character Denis, played by the wonderful Steve Callahan, who life seems to be spiraling out of control. He loses his job, his relationship is falling apart and his mother is ill. When his life seems to be at its lowest point he finds his true passion in life. As usual, Paul Bright tells a complete story that doesn't leave the viewer scratching their heads. I highly recommend this film for anyone looking for a gay themed film that doesn't revolve around the typical clichés that dominate gay cinema. You will not be disappointed.
