Mena Suvari and Interstellar zombies - let's bloody go!The cold open for All You Need Is Blood is set 30,000 years ago where a neanderthal stumbles upon a strange rock in the floor, that dissolves in his hand, coursing through his veins and turning him into a violent being.Fast forward to modern day and we find Bucky, an aspiring teen filmmaker who casts the perfect lead for his breakout zombie film: his undead dad. His obsession with becoming a successful director overtakes the grief for his father which leads to some interesting situations.I enjoyed the score, particularly in the cold open where it drops notes reminiscent of 1960's sci-fi classics. The cast is great, with young leads Logan Riley Bruner (Stranger Things) and Emma Chase giving strong performances. We also have a wonderful return of Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie, Spun) who is outstanding as crazed and unhinged actress Vivian Vance.This is a self-aware, humorous film with heart and some gross out moments. I'd like to thank director Cooper Roberts for sharing this screener with me in advance of Horror-on-Sea. Actually good

My first Imdb review for such a film - but I think this one is definitely better than a 5.2 rating. It reminds me a bit of One Cut of the Dead. It has pretty cool "filmception" framework to begin with. The first half could have been a bit faster, but the end is pretty satisfying and might have been a nod to Dead Alive. So you have those two buddies making a movie and all of a sudden it turns into a zombie movie. The acting was good, you have blood, you have fun, you even have one of the best love stories I've seen in a while. And the best thing: slow zombies! Not those "infected" running zombies. So I'd say if you like old horror/splatter movies you will love this one.
