"Flood in the Desert" is an episode of "The American Experience" which caught me by surprise. After all, I used to teach American History and the topics covered on the show are ones I usually am very familiar with and have often talked about with my classes. But the flood caused by the St. Francis dam in 1928 is something I'd never heard about and I really like when the show surprises me like this one did.The story discusses all the events leading to the disaster as well as the aftermath. Using interviews, photos and a bit of stock footage, they are able to create an interesting story which will keep you riveted. Very well made....like all episodes of this great PBS series.
