Aontas among the audience

Saw this yesterday at the QFT in Belfast. Damian McCann, the director was also in attendance and answered questions after the screening.I won't go into plot details as I'm sure most people can read.This film is clearly not a Hollywood level production and doesn't have to be. It benefits from making the most of what it has and then some.The performances are excellent right across the board, creating complex characters who feel all too real. Not a single frame goes to waste and for that, the director and production team must be congratulated.I also enjoyed how the plot enfolded and without any scenes going to waste, nothing felt out of place.With Báite to hit the big screen this week. This is quite the time to enjoy Irish language cinema and hopefully this will lead to something much larger and more enduring.You don't have to be a Gaeilgeoir to enjoy this film, but it probably helps.

What a great film

Yes, for you only- English speakers, it has subtitles but it is so WORTH the movie. It was my favorite at the Durango Independent Film Festival this year.Three women rob a credit union and then it goes backwards to let you know why. I have seen many shows over the years that show you a scene near the ending and then explain it. Many times, it is confusing as to when the time change is happening or they just put, 6 month ago or something like that on the screen. Nope, this was the best way that I have ever seen it done.The story was unique and interesting. Everyone that I know that saw it, is still talking about it, several days later. As soon as it is available for me to watch again, I will do so. I know there are things that I missed. I don't rewatch many films but cannot wait to do so.I absolutely loved this film and think it is more than worth watching. So much so, that I gave my two besties passes to go watch it, as well.
