Add this to your holiday watchlist

Our family watches this movie every year. There's a lot of joy and growth and humor throughout, and it's never one-dimensional or shallow. Jack commits so fully to his search for the Christmas spirit, and the documentary does an amazing job taking you on the journey with him. The music is great, there are interesting sections about the history of Santa and multicultural traditions, and they talk to so many unique Santas. This movie will get you excited for Christmas no matter what else you have going on.

A must view if you are considering Becoming Santa

First and foremost - I am Santa!

Well done documentary with one caveat,a first year Santa with all these expenses and opportunities? Only through the connections with the producers could one expect all these perks, in my opinion.

The expense of a full professional salon bleaching. The personal tailoring visit with Adele and subsequent cost of the suit. The Santa School expense. All of these combined would be WAY beyond the reach of the average person especially considering his doubt about pursuing the venture.

The vast array of appearances could only be accomplished with a superb agent; again, considering his lack of experience.

My recommendations-

Watch this documentary several times, it is educational and eye opening

Check your motivations for Becoming Santa

Read and watch all you can to educate yourself about the lore, the legend and tips regarding Santa Claus

Practice your laugh, your smile, your stories and responses to questions

Line up some appearances (either for free or fee) with friends, neighbors, associates, local churches or day cares to gain experience and confidence

Rent or buy (depending on your budget and anticipated usage from above suggestion) a decent suit. Children (this is who it's for, right?) respond more to your personality and demeanor than your suit.

After a few visits you will know if you want to continue BEING Santa or not. Not all people have the same reaction. If you do get the bug, continue learning and join online Santa communities. The rest will follow.

As for me, I simply filled in for a public photo shoot wearing their suit. No experience or knowledge, although I do have a natural beard. I was hooked immediately!
