Needless to say that I was not familiar with this 2022 short film titled "Black Karen" prior to stumbling upon it by random luck here in 2026. And since it was something I hadn't already seen before, of course I opted to give it a chance. Normally I don't watch a whole lot of short films, not by choice though, but simply because I don't have the opportunity to do so.Writer Danielle Nicolet actually put together an enjoyable script and storyline despite the fact having a mere 13 minutes of playtime. I enjoyed the narrative here, as it was actually fun.Cedric The Entertainer was the only familiar face on the cast list for me. Not that it was a bad thing, because I do actually enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in "Black Karen" were good. And leading actress Bresha Webb really carried this nicely with her performance."Black Karen" is an enjoyable short film, but hardly something that warrants more than a single viewing.My rating of director Meagan Good's 2022 short film "Black Karen" lands on a six out of ten stars.
