Less white-centric than expected

The film doesn't justify poaching but attempts to reveal root causes and tries to humanize its actors in a world of a continued power imbalance. "The national parks are the last bastion of the white colonial system".It also examines work conditions of the Black Mambas who are in some cases sole providers of the extended family while being separated from them for weeks on end. What is their future once their employment ends?What smelled like white saviorism at the beginning - you see the white leadership of the anti poaching organization hire the female, all-Black team of rangers whom we then see strong, proud and hopeful - is a far more critical and multifaceted documentary than expected. Loved the Mambas and their work. The last scene moved me to tears.

AMAZING

The film not only shows a very interesting and unique perspective of modern colonialism in South Africa but also its rather unexplored consequences for native people and animals - I think it is a very important film to watch!I´m really in love with the protagonists and the cinematic style of the film!It somehow manages to show me the intriguing everyday life of the Black Mambas, but at the same time to reflect on the heritage as a white person. The film does it without being pretentious, but subtle.At the end I got really emotional. One of the best documentaries I have seen in the last few years.
