Plot summary

Olivier Marchal's view

The eyes serve the sense of sight, of what has been lived, a masterpiece by this former policeman inspecteur de police, who now serves the profession in cinema, what he has become, based on a loose biography and performed by this actor full of common sense, sensitivity, ethics, integrity, dignity, selflessness, and restraint.The film recounts the case of former police commissioner Michel Neyret, dismissed despite an incredible career filled with accolades, medals, and rank, making headlines on television news for his corruption-no, no, and no, let's not be quick to file a complaint against him-from his cell in police custody.Discarded like a common criminal without shame, questioned by his female colleague, the police commissioner, listening is the other human dimension of duty for a disgraced, outstanding police officer who benefits from the loyal support of allies, colleagues, and friends-support he sorely needs-from police forces worldwide. The masterpiece's, directed by a director who felt obligated and held no grudges, is a 10/10.

Pure Olivier Marchal's product.

I confess that I am an Olivier Marchal's addict. To the bone. Everything he makes, good or less good, I take. This one makes no exception. It is inspired by the Michel Neyret case, a major cop, an executive in police force, who was accused of bribery and close - too close? - relationship with the underworld. Olivier Marchal was a cop thirty years ago, so he knows what he talks about. And Michel Neyret is a friend of his. It's a cop tale, from the inside, where the lead is a heat accused of what I have just explained. Bruno Wolkovitch is so impressive here, as the accused cop. Olivier Marchal named one of his characters Janssen. Probably a tribute to Jean-Pierre Melville's character in LE CERCLE ROUGE and played in 1970 by Yves Montand. Everything here sounds true, believable. Many flashbacks in this cop story, this crepuscular tale, a story about heats friendship, showing their life, their hopes, their fears. Their melancholy. Their sadness.Worth watching, no problem.I repeat, a pure Marchal's piece of work, stronger than a gram of pure heroine.
