Cheesy and enjoyable...

Sure, there was no doubt about the fact that I harbored zero expectations to the 2014 movie titled "Bubba the Redneck Werewolf" as I sat down to watch it here in 2025. I had never heard about the movie, but from the cover alone, it was obvious that this was a low budget movie. And the title just screamed cheese to High Heavens.Yet, I still opted to watch the movie, on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen. And on the off-chance that director Brendan Jackson Rogers delivered an enjoyable movie, of course I opted to give the movie a fair chance."Bubba the Redneck Werewolf" is not a stellar movie, sure, but it is actually so bad and cheesy that it is a fun movie to watch. The storyline is pretty straightforward, albeit somewhat silly actually, but it made for an enjoyable viewing, if you like cheesy low budget horror comedies. So writers Stephen Biro and Mitch Hyman actually managed to pull this off well enough.Needless to say that I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. The acting performances in the movie were fair.Visually then the movie was low budget, sure, but it actually worked out well enough in favor of the movie. I've seen far worse werewolf effects in werewolf horror movies that were passing themselves off as serious movies. So thumbs up to the special effects team that worked on "Bubba the Redneck Werewolf""Bubba the Redneck Werewolf" is a movie that requires you to enjoy low budget cheesy movies. And if you do, then you're in for a 77 minutes treat here.My rating of director Brendan Jackson Rogers's 2014 movie "Bubba the Redneck Werewolf" lands on a five out of ten stars.

Hot or not

Damn my internet connection. It just went out when I was halfway through writing this. Anyway, this is a silly comedy and I have not read the source comic book this is based on. If it is as silly as this ... well. It is a taste thing now isn't it. I really wasn't too focused on this, but as with most those, you have a lot of violence and blood ... but in this case no nudity (well not explicit nudity - some call a nun in lingerie nudity, so there's that).Borrowing from different comedies and classics (such as Abbott and Costello), this never reaches the quality those represent. But you probably should know that ... I imagine you do, without me having to point that out. Be aware that this has to be watched with a large amount of disbelief ... and that's still an understatement. Not acknowledging a Werewolf when you see one ... well, what can you say, right? He just grew a beard ... and he smells better ... if that sounds funny to you .. well go on and watch that movie
