Bumped off

Bump is a fantastic series that every Boxing Day I look forward to watch. After the final season, I expected it all to end there. And it should have.This movie was rather... terrible. Difficult to follow storylines, stories not going anywhere, or having minimal impact. I wished for the magic of the original series.Lets just say, I was disappointed!

Knock the Boat

This movie just came up as a new Christmas-themed film on the BBC iPlayer so we thought we'd give it a whirl, unusual title and all. Turns out it's an extended Christmas special from what I understand is a popular Australian TV sit-com / soap opera with multiple characters and an Australian / Latin American crossover thing going on.This alone made it almost impossible for me to get a handle on the characters or their back stories which involved broken marriages, a newborn baby, a lesbian couple and more, all on board a cruise liner travelling the sea-ports of Colombia, the nationality of one of the prominent female characters.Unfortunately, neither the cruise-ship settings, Latin-American soundtrack or Christmas lights could enliven what in the end just came across as a tame, Antipodean version of "The Love Boat". Plus, I prefer my Christmases in the bleak, preferably snowy mid-winter, not in the bright sunshine backdrop shown here.This was one boat that really should have stayed in-dock.
