Better than average found footage film

This was a pleasant surprise. I have watched almost all of the horror movies with a rating of 4 or higher. There are so many turds out there. This is not one of them. The cinematography and location were very good. The acting was well above average as well. But most importantly the characters were believable. It had scenes that reminded me of Alien. Not much gore but a lot of tension... my type of movie. Apparently i have to have 10 lines of text so the rest of the review is optional. If you like movies where the characters are competent (like the Descent or maybe Aliens) you might enjoy this movie. One of my biggest gripes with most horror movies is that they make the people complete idiots. I find it annoying and end up wanting them to die or not caring. I greatly prefer movies like this one were the people are just trying to do their job and be good at it.

Worth watching, not your generic found footage, well-made

The review by x_specter_x is spot on, very worth watching. I practically never feel jumpy watching horror films but this actually did keep me on edge right through because the film makers actually realised for once how to keep it tense and creepy all the way through. Feels like Blair Witch/The Descent/The Ritual, as in they focus on what is so unnerving about an outdoor setting. I liked the slightly different setting a lot, the acting was great, and I appreciated the realism of the characters' set-up. This really needs bumping into the good lists, because it seems to be a bit under the radar and the name and cover art don't really help.
