Highly Recommended

I saw this film at the AFI Film Festival in Hollywood. A French docudrama about a police internal affairs officer investigating the circumstances behind the injury of a protestor in the Paris riots of 2018. The protestor was shot in the head with a rubber bullet (very much against worldwide police protocol). But as you can guess, she encounters the "blue wall of silence" from fellow officers as she tries to investigate. Very well acted by all involved - in particular by Lea Drucker as the investigator. Highly recommended 8/10.

Highly underrated.

I saw "Case 137" at the Philadelphia Film Festival and was extremely impressed and, so far, it might just be the best movie in the festival. Amazingly, it only has an overall score of 7.0...far lower than it should be.The film is set back in 2018 following the widespread riots in Paris. In the days following, the French equivalent of Internal Affairs investigates instances where the police broke the law in dealing with the protestors. The story follows an investigator who looks into one egregious case...where police supposedly shot an unarmed and peaceful protestor in the head with riot bullets...leaving him with brain damage and in the hospital for months. If you want a film to make you feel good or that is pro-police, this is NOT the film for you. But unless you are a zombie who think cops NEVER break the law, you'll love this sad, sad film. Extremely well made and, appropriately, with an extremely sad ending. Depressing but one not to miss.

Lea Drucker - a French acting force

To say that Lea Drucker carries the movie on her shoulders is an understatement. She is the movie and the movie is worth watching by her performance only. Yet, everything else is fascinating, the plot, the time the director to let emotions sink in, some scenes might have been shorter, yet he lets the camera roles a bit longer than the usual and this is marvellous what a few seconds can do.
