Close call

Was ready to hate this movie because of how things were playing out, how forgiving everyone seemed to be, how light everything seems to be perceived. I think the ending saved it though. I think the ending validated everything I was thinking and in a way changed how I watched the movie. All this to say it was smarter than I gave it credit for.

Unconventional May-December romance

This film takes a bold look at a May-December romance and the consequences, which had been feared and also ignored. The script affords unexpected plot twists and insights into how the relationship between a high school student and a much older woman was sparked and then took off. Their abandon and feelings are on full display. Happily the directing was taut and the actors were a joy to watch. I also enjoyed the film's setting - the Big Island of Hawaii - where I recently vacationed and which made me feel and wish I was back there. I would highly recommend watching this film!

Well written and produced story with exceptional local feel

I really enjoyed the directing and storyline of this film, from the way in which they connected moments from early on toward the end, while also tying in such a local feel to the Big Island and city of Hilo. The suspense and humor was also well timed, which to me really highlighted the drama to be more engaging, and left me wondering how Misha's life would unfold. As the suspense grew. Kudos to the writer, producers and director. I saw this film at the Palace in Hilo on a recommendation and never read a review on it, which created even more joy and surprise, and suspense by the unfolding plot. I really liked the way it ended, and the ending to a movie goes a long way in how I rate it.
