Odd movie...

Stumbling upon the 2018 horror comedy "Cynthia" by sheer random chance here in 2025, and never having heard about it, of course I had to check it out. I am a big fan of all things horror, after all. And without knowing what I was in for, I guess directors Devon Downs and Kenny Gage had every opportunity to entertain me.The movie starts out a bit slow, I will say, but stick with it, because the narrative definitely kicks into a proper gear once the birthing is happening. Writer Robert Rhine put together a strange and bizarre story, for sure, but there was something oddly entertaining about it.The cast ensemble in the movie is quite good, and there are some great performers on the cast list, with the likes of Scout Taylor-Compton, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, James Karen and Lynn Lowry. Needless to say that the acting performances in the movie were good.The special effects in the movie were good, and definitely added some fun and enjoyment to the overall impression of the movie.If you enjoyed movies such as the "Basketcase" trilogy, then you will definitely also enjoy this movie.My rating of "Cynthia" lands on a five out of ten stars.

Mamamia sigh

Mommy had twins. One was baby Sloth. She cared for her babies. Daddy turns out to be gay.

Where's the dark humor? Let alone the humor at all? This movie tried to be serios and failed, so they tried to call the lame puppet and effects "dark comedy" (klaxxon sound)

Overall; far from saying it's a terrible movie, but also just as far from recommending watching it either. It's just a meh.

Meh, see it if it interests you, but meh, you won't kick yourself if you never do.
