Plot summary

Ramanuja lyengari and his gang plan to get Musthafa expelled from the college. A series of fun-filled adventures lead to a riveting cricket match which will decide everybody's fate.It is based on K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s short story of the same name. In a first of its kind attempt, 100+ fans of the writer have come forward to produce this film.

Daredevil Musthafa: A Enjoyable Film with Some Flaws

According to me, Daredevil Musthafa is a very good movie. Script is based on Thejaswi's short story. Good performances from Mandya Ramesh and Nagabhushana. The film had offered a tribute to Dr. Rajkumar, the God of Kannada Cinema with the song Ninnanthor Yaru Ilvallo, where they had recreated him using animation. The glimpses of Dr. Rajkumar as Ranadheera Kanteerava is seen in that song. It is a treat to watch Dr. Rajkumar.Screenplay of Daredevil Musthafa is fast, overall but there is a little bit of drag in the first half. Storytelling, narration, and songs of this film is good. Background Music is very good.The way in which characters are developed in Daredevil Musthafa is O. K. There are some flaws in characterizations. Editing and cinematography is good.The college environment in the film does not resemble like an actual college environment, but resembles more like school environment. Cricket scenes are O. K, considering the fact that the match is between a college team of a village vs the local boys of the next town. So there is no need of professionalism there. Cricket scenes will create an interest in audience. Overall this is a must watch.My Rating: 7/10 Verdict: Good.

Emotions captured brilliantly

This story is based on yester years. And the lifestyle, thinking, of people has been captured perfectly. Wow how the human emotions has been enacted by every actor is truly amazing. There are suspense bits in the movie too which was a good reveal towards the end. The fun of college days along with enemity , unity and other range of emotions has been displayed splendidly. The direction is very nice , and every actor has done a great role. At no point I felt that any actore could have done better in that situation. Remids me of the stories narrated by my parents, (movie story falls under same era)It was just like that. No big dramas but feels like a true tale. Loved it. Must watch.

Jamal Abdullah Musthafa Hussain, friend of Iyengari & co.

Daredevil Musthafa based on a short story by Poornachandra Tejasvi, tells a story about a Muslim boy getting admission in a college filled with Hindus and how he tries to get along with all of them despite their stereotypical assumptions of him. This coming of age drama deals with friendship, jealousy, crush, betrayal and doesn't give the youngsters more than what they can handle.The beauty of this story is the honesty in capturing the innocence of these characters. There is an excellent blend of humor with drama for which the writing has to be lauded. From the introduction of each of the key characters and the world the story is set in, the narrative is effective enough to get instantly connected. There is justification to Iyengari's jealousy towards Musthafa and how clueless is Musthafa for the unnecessary hatred he has to face.It is the strong supporting cast that supports the two main cast - Musthafa (Sishir) and Iyengari (Aditya), while these two are excellent on their own. The final act is obviously a cricket match because what else will unify the people irrespective of religion? What stands out is how director Shashank Soghal sticks to the tone of the source material and doesn't go overboard with any scene for dramatic effect.Daredevil Musthafa is easily is the best Kannada film of 2023 so far and kudos to the team for doing justice to the source material. A worthy watch in theater indeed.
