Plot summary

After fleeing the Iran-Iraq war, Darya begins a new life in Los Angeles and is swept off her feet by the charming Sam Lebon. But behind his promises of safety lies a violent darkness. As their relationship twists into abuse and control, Darya makes a daring escape — only to discover Sam has ordered her death. Hunted and alone, she must outwit a relentless predator before his vow becomes her execution.

Based on True Events

The film is suspenseful. At first, the protagonist is overwhelmed, confused and weak due to the excruciating violence imposed on her from her husband who is an arrogant and deplorable Man, however she fights her way back to regain her independence and confidence.. Good movie subject with a talented cast...

How did this get an 8?

While I appreciate the content of this film and the attempted message, it was hard to watch. Not because of the violence, but rather the acting and lack of story development. The plea before the judge by her mother mad no sense in terms of the case. Why not say he struck her and drove drunk? B class movie and that is being generous. (Sorry to say as the subject matter deserves better)

Not a 10

Yes domestic abuse is an issue. But this is to review the movie, not champion issues. The movie was better than the largest percentage of Lifetime movies, but it was not anywhere close to being worthy of a 10. The acting in particular, was rough. It may as well have been a true crime documentary reenactment.
