A Unique Blend of Latin Horror with Some Flaws

Go for the synopsis - it's not bad but it falls off at the end

A movie whose synopsis caught my attention on Netflix and that started very well (although I didn't know where it was going) but as the minutes went by it fell into places common to many other movies and fell off a lot at the end.I need more development of why. I feel that the writer/director did not know how to close the story and gave a very weak justification just to finish the film and that is what makes the film fall.Some people were bothered by the sound at the end of the film, but I thought it was a very nice resource to represent the fact of disappearing as the name of the film indicates.It is not perfect and the ending is a shame but I recommend it because it is very bearable to watch.

Everything in the world is beautiful when explored...!!!

Director Luis Javier Henaine does a wonderful job, carrying each scene of his film with suspense. The cinematography is incredible, with atmospheric lighting that, together with the art direction, immerses us more in the theme of death...It was filmed with an aspect ratio of 3:2, just like a newspaper photography and the camera movements are only presented in one important scene within this feature film. Cinematography also breaks the barriers of the movie screen to make us look through the eyes of the protagonist, losing the sense of sight along with him...The sound design is also masterful, mainly by becoming monoaural, leading us to become the protagonist and another victim who is losing the hearing. The performances are wonderful and full of feeling, Harold Torres emanates the emotions of his character and transmits them to the audience. "Desaparecer por completo" is a complex horror cinematic experience, a synesthesia brought to the big screen...Despite that rather severe misstep, Disappear Completely still manages to be an unnerving film and like Evil Eye deserves recognition as another solid tale of witchcraft in modern day Mexico. It also has something to say about the way exposure to the more sensational media outlets, tabloid newspapers, social media, etc, can desensitize people, which is unnerving in its own right...
