Not up to potential

The film's production values were glaring from the start. It looked like one of those theater groups that make shorts for You Tube.With that aside, it had potential to be far better. One huge plothole was Holly's instant attitude adjustment where she turns from "rich brat" to "nice person" in a split second. Had they taken time to tease that out a little bit, her change might have been more credible."Grandma Williams" should get her own series; the actor who played her was that darn good. Problem is, her on-point performance set the bar a bit too high for the others to follow. Had the cast (and crew) upped their game to her level, it would have been much better.

Ok

The "Napoleon Dynamite" of Christmas movies only without as good production values. I loved the relationship between Holly and Grandma. The whole movie had using-locals-as-characters feel to it.The fade in and out between scenes left a lot to be desired. Recording could use some work. But a cute time-killer.

When Decency Says Move On

Watching this movie feels like coming upon a terrible accident while driving. Every decent instinct tells you to keep moving, but your eyes drift back anyway. It's unsettling and uncomfortable, yet strangely gripping, holding you there not through enjoyment, but through a sober, uneasy fascination you can't quite shake.
