A simple Christmas movie

Could've been better

The expectations were low going in, at least looking for holiday entertainment, but it was a very poorly executed plot line. The acting was too stiff, dialogue very obviously scripted, and the harshness of the dad (Cuba) was awkward as the child actor had to laugh at being belittled. Like a corny version of home alone and some dog movie combined. Could've been done better in so many ways.

Had potential

So I gave this movie an honest chance. The plot was actually really good, as well as the setting and filming locations. However the acting was HORRIBLE. Everything from bad accidents to way over the top dramatics. A lot of scenes felt like they were reading straight from the script. All this film needed was a little bit more of a budget to invest in better actors and it would have been an easy 7 stars.
