Stick with it. It's worth it!

In the beginning of the film there's a quote from Stephen Sondheim that says something like, take a jigsaw puzzle, it's chaos. Put it together, it's a picture. That's this film. Controlled chaos. Not for the faint of heart. It time jumps through the mind of Peter, who may or may not have had a car accident while arguing on the phone with his wife Lora. He's struggling with the guilt he feels over the death of his first love, Sara. Events are relived over and over again, but each time slightly different. Is Sara still alive? Is she not? Here's a clue -- the movie may run 90 minutes, but it really takes place in just 15 minutes or so. I totally get it, but I can see where many do not. Use your brain. It's worth it.

This movie reminds me of some of the French noir films from the 1950s and 1960s: dark themes, complicated characters, and a complex plot. For me, it required a 2nd viewing to connect the dots and see all of the bread crumbs that writer, Howard Goldberg, left along the way. Alexander Calvert was excellent as the lead, I look forward to seeing him in other roles. I had seen Kahyun Kim in Cocaine Bear and it was interesting to see her in such a dramatic role like this. Caylee Cowan was part ice queen, part drama queen and the camera certainly loves her. All in all this is a cool indie film to watch.

A real mind-bender!

Be ready to be confused, and lean into that feeling, because you're going to be for most of this film. It's not until the end that you get some clarity, but by some, I mean you are still going to have a lot of questions! This was a fantastic indie film! I think I need to watch it again to pick up on the subtle hints that would give me more insight into the seemingly parallel realities Peter was living. I felt myself questioning which parts of the movie were in reality and which weren't.I'm usually a studio produced, wrap everything up in a bow movie watcher, but I decided to do something different, and give this film a go. I wasn't disappointed!
