A FAR CRY

I don't see what other's see in this unromantic saga of Draupadi's namesake. What I see is a collection of clips spread here and there with no connection to each other.Native families were never like this in British India. What were the writers thinking?And then the swami's character. Swamis are never portrayed like this, never do they talk like this, never do they look like this and above all, never do they behave like this. A swamy coming on to a young girl! And Indira achieves freedom through this effrontery!Om chants thrown here and there; godly mantras recited awkwardly, to give the swami substance? Far from it. Such sounds are solemn, but not in this film.A total disaster!And what was the big idea in adding a note about the Quetta earthquake of 1935?

Amazing love story

I felt like I was taken back in time to 1930s India. Reliving the fabled love story and being in a trance with the characters played so well by the actors and actresses that I forgot I was watching a movie and not actual live events. The attire was so extravagant and the story was so intriguing. The romance seemed so real that you really pulled for the characters.
