This film oozes style.

This film oozes style. The cinematography is breathtaking, every frame feels composed like a painting. The story starts as a simple interview setup and spirals into something dark, sexy, and unsettling. Strong writing, great pacing, and a finale that left me thinking for days. Deserves way more attention.

Imagine The Talented Mr. Ripley riffed out by Gen-Z filmmakers with ADHD. Hala Matar's debut feature is a stylish, surreal thriller where a journalist and his photographer partner's trip to interview a rock star and his performance artist girlfriend spirals into a thrilling game of deceit, betrayal, and to be spoiler-vague, murderous intent.Electra oozes in style with cuts between on-screen graphics and bright sunny days countered with scowling, scheming, and claustrophobia within opulence.Think Luca Guadagnino directing a Hitchcock thriller. Electra is ellusively charming and fun to watch.
