Pseudocumentary directed and written by Bruno Mattei (Le Sorelline Emanuelle e Françoise), with the filming complicity of Joe D'Amato (Papaya Love Goddess of the Cannibals), text by Ugo Moretti (Lenzi's Orgasmo). Laura Gemser (Emanuelle Nera, with a single "m") takes the continuation of her first opus in a weirder and vicious sequel.Laura leads us in another world tour, "searching for pleasure in every continent", for an obsessive sexual quest of strange, pervert or deviated habits, "in their infinite range of variations". Because all can be turn into sex. We begin so by a spiritualist seance with Anna Valentino (Porco Mondo) and Fernando Arcangeli (Macchie Solari), where obviously the possession by Belphegor's spirit is just the occasion to have the girls get undressed in trance.As that was simply "playful", we have to reach then "real evil" in Austrian Styria, Carmilla's country, with a black mass performed by Eolo Capritti (Solamente Nero) with Maria Grazia Smaldone (Porca Societa), for "a hidden ceremony" of "an antique secret society" "whose roots reach back to the dawn of time", culminating as it should be in the presentation of a virgin to the devil. Of course, like in all the sequences, all is staged in Italy by professional actors knowing well their affair.In Atlanta, all the attractions in a Lunapark are twisted into exhibitionist sexual shows, the ghost train becoming a love tunnel through Fellinian monstrous apparitions in "Bosch's fantasy" style, with a hermaphrodite like in the first opus. In Paris the great magus Armand and his assistant Cornelia (Caterina Zinnerman, Starcrash) enjoy themselves and us at the same time getting men and women in the public magically unclothed. "Men like to unclothe women, who don't try to resist because they enjoy it" quotes philosophically Gemser with her quite practical mind.In Munich, the clients pay to pull on the red and white ribbons of Daphne (Ulla Johannsen, Rivelazioni di un maniaco sessuale), peeling her at each time, and letting her make her Salome-like dance. In Hamburg a Lady Godiva nude on a white poney "sacrifies her modesty to a worthy cause", because "the public has always reason", and we understand well that she is going to go further with her mount than the historic one, the horse here playing the same role as the dog in the first Mondo Notti. All the clubbers of the sequences, among them Mario Castaldi (Syndicate Sadists), Massimo Ciprari (Diabolik) and Nello Paladino (Milano Calibro 9), obsessed and perverted, always share their voyeurism with us, making of us their accomplices, but "it isn't sinful to enjoy living", as sums up our host Laura.In Norway, eroticism is "enriched with poetry and music" for a "balletic orgy" photographed by Ajunta Wilson (who has presented also another Notti Porno 2). Ajunta, "a superb teacher for learning all the tricks", goes to Marseille in "an exclusive private club" dedicated to "the memory of the imperishable Sappho and Pierre Louÿs's Bilitis", in order to watch a lesbian spectacle. The gore moment arrives in Japan, where an Italian couple with Giuseppe Curia (Giallo in Venice) go to consult the professor Ching (Frank Nuyen, Hercules against Karate), in order to get a much bigger penis transplanted. A good occasion to watch a bloody operation in close-up, included emasculation like in the first opus but more detailed. Would the transplantation, "at the own risk of the patient", finally happen to be successful?For exoticism, no Africa nor Brazil this time but New Guinea, with an ingenious edition of the other mondo L'Isola dei Cannibali. The footage of this film truly shot in Papua New Guinea is mixed with a performance by actors showing much more precisely details of the issue: the traditional defloration of the bride by the groom's friends in a tribal village, while pigs are violently slain. In this way, "husbands should not be afraid that their wife could cheat them with their best friends". Will in this case the groom and also the bride be satisfied of the friends' prestation?In Holland, Snow White is also a stripper, and the seven dwarves are only four, but lecherous ones. In Oslo, in a "ladies club", old and middle-aged women (with Adriana Colombo, I Nuovi Mostri; Catharina Dahlin, Doppio Delitto; Pupita Lea Scuderoni, Quattro Mosche di Velluto Grigio; and Augusta Di Vincenzi, Nelle Pieghe della Carne) watche lustfully Art, a bodybuilder, a "man object" for "obscure desires", while taking fun sitting on very specially equipped chairs.In Copenhague, Herd, an adult movie director, and his wife actress Kathleen, who has performed "in almost 200 films", explain how to make adult films, because "nowadays it's impossible for a serious director to make a good straight art film". In Madrid, in a cabaret, a woman in bondage is violently taken by two men, showing that "sexual freedom" exposes yet women to "new perils". In Montreal also, a bubble bath boxing fight between two topless women free the "low instincts" of the male public.And what is waiting for us in the future, in our "age of rockets and trips to the moon"? Two performers, with Gloria Piedimonte (A tutte le Auto della Polizia), give a "galactic ballet", "making love on a bed of clouds and under a blanket of stars". Back to Earth, in Rome, in a small theater in a suburb, working class women, among them Violetta (Maria Mascarielli, Tragic Ceremony), Renata (Maria Cafiero, Giallo Napolitano, and Philomena (Antonia Dauria, Voto di Castita), take part in a striptease contest, but "in the tradition of the Roman crowd at the gladiatorial", they get humiliated by a cruel male audience who throw at them rotten vegetables, except from the youngest ones who receive applause.And the film, which gets its word porno of the title for a teasing purpose, reminding that the liberalization of adult movies abroad was not yet in Italy, yet remains dealing at a rather soft erotic level, and ends with a nude beauty contest for male and female in California, taken from the 1976 Miss Nude America movie, where the sexual revolution shows a happy "allegro finale". Not to be confused with Mattei's 'Notti porno nel mondo' (1977). It was actually this title that was released as 'Emanuelle and the Porno Nights' internationally, for those who are wondering. This is the second film of a series three.Similar to its predecessor of the previous year, Emanuelle returns to narrate more scenes of perversion, stripping, rituals and other sexual action from around the world. Only this time the film seems to try and take a more 'mondo' approach with a limited degree of success. It appears that most of the action is staged. That said, it is quite an entertaining piece of 70s cult trash. A couple of hilarious noteworthy scenes...The opening sequence features a weird mystical ritual featuring knives and a mass orgy at the end. Another features a spin on the legend of Lady Godiva, only this one occurs in a German club with a naked blonde and a small white pony. Yes, it's true - rather than ride naked into town on a white stallion, she tries to seduce and coax the pony to mount her (riding HER into town!!!) before engaging in implied fellatio with it in front of a sleazy crowd. It's as if this is some sort of peculiar homage to the bestial perversion in a similar scene in 'Emanuelle in America' made before this film.We bear witness to a gory, blood soaked close-up penis enlargement operation in Japan. Clearly faked, we watch the surgeons clumsily cut off the tiny prosthetic penis only to attach a huge one, much to the delight of the wife who is watching the operation. Does the film 'In the Realm of the Senses' come to mind?Ajita Wilson also cameos, discussing the joys of lesbian sex. We then see a depiction of girl on girl action, though she (or he?) does not participate. Another funny scene features an audience of mainly middle aged women, apparently in Oslo (!), moaning and sighing while they watch a muscled guy posing in a g-string thong type of thing. While they watch, you see them bouncing on their chairs, and you think what the heck are they doing? We later learn they are bouncing on rubber dildo's that are stuck to the chair! Hilarious!The only 'real' footage appears to be the killing and subsequent gutting of a boar somewhere in New Guinea (though interspersed with clearly staged footage of a young woman having sex with various men who insert a white feather into her private parts to ensure she is a bleeding virgin). Also, a short feature near the end showing some sort of nude contest in California appears to be real, complete with naked male sky divers!As you can see, this flick is a real mish-mash of largely staged footage, but it does feature an absolute abundance of mostly female nudity, including the gorgeous Gemser herself who spends most of her time naked whilst narrating the scenes. There is some male nudity also, for girls and gay guys who may be interested. There are NO hardcore inserts, however. And who cares? It's not the sort of film that needed that sort of thing. Maybe Caligula, Emanuelle in America, or Emanuelle Around The World did? Up to you to decide I suppose. The film is ludicrous and outrageous, but it really is enjoyable fun. For what is was worth, I enjoyed it, and if you bothered to look it up here I suspect you would probably enjoy it too. It's not meant to be taken seriously or overly analyzed. It's to be enjoyed for what it's worth - a mainly fake Italian mondo sex romp and nothing more. It's WAY overdue for a re-mastered DVD release. Perhaps the holder of the film's distribution rights somewhere on Earth is reading this...
