Plot summary

When a Catholic youth ministry is invited to spend the night in a vacant Mexican church, they're suddenly trapped by the ghostly apparition of a vengeful nun. Now their only hope is to break the curse before she claims them all, one deadly sin at a time.

Not the worst, not watchable, and beyond bland

I have to agree with the other reviews. I don't know what I watched, but it wasn't entertaining. The only positive I can really take away is the opening shots were shot nicely.The story contradicted itself very often. In most scenes, it contracted itself within the same 2 sentences. Example, when they reach the church, they ask the guy for help. He says no, but he'll call for help if they go back to their car. In the next sentence, they ask if he has a phone and he says no, he can't help them. What? Our main girl gets posessed and is suddenly pregnant. But then every other time she gets posessed again, she doesn't get pregnant anymore. 0 consistancy.I couldn't tell you how the movie ends because it managed to knock me out. The last thing I remember was Javi getting killed. Which also was another contradiction. The summary says the kids get killed based on the 7 deadly sins. The first guy was killed by a 2X4 to the stomach. Javi had his eyes ripped out. Not sure what sins those represented, but none I'm familiar with!1/10 stars from this guy.

No, not watchable but bland

Watchable, but bland...

Without ever having heard of this 2025 horror movie titled "Evil Nun", as I stumbled upon it here in 2026, of course I opted to check it out, given my love of all things horror.And seeing The Asylum's logo on the screen, as the movie started, well that didn't really do much to bolster any hopes of a grand movie experience, as the majority of the movies from The Asylum are questionable at best. But I still opted to give the movie a fair chance and the benefit of the doubt.Of the entire cast ensemble, I was actually only familiar with Noel Gugliemi. Not that it was a bad thing, because I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen when I sit down to watch a movie. The acting performances in "Evil Nun" were fair.The movie's cover is pretty simple and low key, sort of amateurish and cheesy actually. But it was actually sufficiently cheesy to make me pick up the movie, so it worked.Visually, then the movie was adequate.Watchable, for sure, but hardly an outstanding foray into the horror genre. But for a movie from The Asylum, then it definitely was a step up from the majority of the questionable movies that The Asylum spews out.My rating of director Jose Prendes's 2025 movie "Evil Nun" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
