Great Info For Beatles Fans

Casual fans might be bored, the this in-depth look at the Beatles in 1962 shows them setting the stage for their leap to fame. I've read many books about the group, but I still was fully entertained by the little bits of trivia Mark Lewisohn has dug up. He shows the Beatle contracts (plural) with Brian Epstein, he plays some audio recordings, he visits locations to match photos to them. Silly things for most people, but to Beatles fans it all adds up to a pivotal year for some scruffy-look lads who get polished up and conquer the world of music. One interesting item is a Beatles pay slip which adds details of income and expenses for the entire group. Brian Epstein wanted to lay out just where the money went, showing what an honest manager he was. That alone probably makes him an exception in the music biz, from what I've read about other managers.Mark Lewisohn is an pleasant speaker, not some crusty geek who never sees the light of day. I've heard his name so many times over the decades, it's nice to put a face to it.
