Dark Summit

Brilliant film. I've just re-read 'Dark Summit' which covers the climbs of David Sharp, Thomas Weber & Lincoln Hall and all the drama and controversies that went with them. This is a great documentary that puts a human side to the climbers, rather than them just be 'characters'. It makes it all the more sad that you see them as living, breathing people with personalities and goals that go up but don't come back down. There is a bit of controversy about Harry Kikstra and his part in it all, as well but it's nice to see him as quite a bubbly, normal character who does care about Thomas, in this documentary. I'd say this is essential viewing for anyone with an interest in the 2006, North season and a good watch for fans of Everest climbing, in general.
