Plot summary

Not sure why...

So many of my fellow dudes are so annoyed by the main character. I've seen countless movies where the male protagonist does the exact same things and no one complains about it. The acting in this movie is at worst mid. It's an interesting story with a protagonist that isn't a goody two-shoes and gets stuff done. Pretty sure that's the formula of many successful films. I didn't think the ending was abrupt. It had been building toward that for some time and was properly foreshadowed. I also like that the relationships in the movie were complicated and not just one note. Again, I think if the protagonist had been a dude, it would have gotten much less negative reviews.

Sofia Gilchrist (Kerry Condon) has a fear of flying. She and her brother are flying to visit their mother (Sheila McCarthy). At the last minute, she runs off the plane and leaves her brother on board. The plane crashes with no survivors. Sofia is a suspended plane crash investigator and her personal connection excludes her from the case. She investigates on her own anyways.I'm here for Kerry Condon. It's a Canadian production trying to be American. It's TV movie level except for a couple of these great actors. The investigation goes too slowly and lacks action. The solution seems pretty obvious which saps away the tension. She needs somebody trying to kill her. Fighting the system can only go so far.
