Cute MST3K style effort

If you've seen the original KTMA MST3K episodes, you'll have an idea of the feel of this show. Not sure if the jokes are scripted or not but it has that tone/feel of early riffing. Even if you haven't seen The Magic Sword previously, the provided commentary never distracts too much from it. The pacing of the commentary can be a little uneven at times, alternating between long periods of silence and some rushed jokes. Not bad for a riff outside of MST3K/RiffTrax.

Seriously...?

Of course I had never heard about this 2024 movie titled "Frankenstein Theater: The Magic Sword" prior to sitting down to watch it. So I didn't know what I was in for here.But I have to say that having two women silhouetted in the corner of the movie, and every now and again popping up in an added frame on the screen, commenting on an adventure movie that they are watching, hardly constitutes being entertainment in my book.This was garbage in its purest form. Why would they opt to ruin the 1962 movie "The Magic Sword" by having these two nobodies sit in silhouette and watch the movie while commenting on the action on the screen?Stay well clear of this one. Trust me. Instead, you should track down the original 1962 movie, by director Bert I. Gordon, and watch that one.My rating of "Frankenstein Theater: The Magic Sword" lands on a one out of ten stars.
