Cinematic Ordeal

The film presents moments of comedy within a short period of time, but ends up faltering as the narrative progresses. The plot initially seems interesting in its proposal; however, as the material unfolds, it starts to feel tiring and repetitive, which weakens the viewer's experience. In summary, the film attempts to convey a message of sustainability, but this idea does not align with the reality of the main character. In the end, an atmosphere is created suggesting that everything turned out well, as if the conflicts had been resolved, when in practice the character's situation remains unsustainable and elitist, despite the film's insistence on showing otherwise. The ending appears happy only because a conclusion needed to exist, but there is, in fact, no real resolution to the problem that was addressed throughout the narrative, especially from the audience's point of view. This problem with the screenplay and its conclusion becomes even more evident when it is not limited solely to the plot, but also reflected in the reality portrayed. The film takes place for about 60% of its runtime on Indigenous lands and, even so, does not feature Indigenous actors, which highlights a lack of context, research, and care regarding the proposed theme. The film seems to have good intentions, but does not go beyond that: it lacks action, development, and depth. As a result, it ends up resorting to awkwardness and clichés, precisely because it fails to convince the audience.Incredibly, even before the film began, it was already possible to predict this outcome, as it follows a pattern of mistakes that has been repeated in several other national films. The final impression is of a work that tries to address important issues but fails to sustain them, either narratively or critically.
