A silly spoofe

This is the HOA of of people on the spectrum and you can't convince me otherwise.Ned is the greatest, loved him.It is completely over the top, it's clearly a spoof of other similar movies, you all know the ones. The romance is a bit forced, and the main plot is a bit contrived. Seriously she'd in reality just tell the HOA to sit and swivel and go to a hotel. But the movie wouldn't be nearly as fun, or as long. And it is a fun movie. They did a great job of making the characters obnoxious and annoying to start with, and then turning it around to make almost all of them be liked and make me invested in them.

Sweetness overload, but it is Christmas!

After breaking up with her terrible boyfriend, Emily returns to her family home, a place where Christmas is taken seriously, very seriously. Can the locals transform the Grinch into a Christmas star? So, in the real world, Christmas is about family arguments, awful music and hideous jumpers, disappointment and too much food (I'm exaggerating just a little bit!). But in Hallmark films, it's like this...If you want an abundance of syrup, enough to put you into a cinnamon-sparkled Christmas diabetic coma, this will be right up your street. It's not my usual kind of film, but I woke up today feeling just a little bit Christmassy, and somehow this ridiculously sweet film just ticked the boxes. My hard heart couldn't help but enjoy it; it's just easy-going, well-meaning fun. I liked the acting; I like that I didn't need to think or concentrate too much.Sometimes you just need Christmas by Hallmark; this actually cheered me up.7/10.

It's a spoof, people

Wanting a quiet Christmas with her parents after a romantic breakup, Lacey Chabert's Emily is dragooned into the neighbourhood Christmas madness. (Bit like Christmas With the Kranks)You'd think she'd know what to expect as her parents have been leading members of the local Residents' Association for decades - but no. Being a sweet well-mannered girl, she meekly agrees to whatever the dingbat neighbours want. Nor does she object when mum & dad waltz off to Florida.(I reckon it would be worth being written out of the will for the exquisite pleasure of telling them what's on her mind but Emily's nicer than I am) Of course, had she told them all to bog off and booked herself into a luxury spa, it would be more realistic but a much shorter film! There are some very funny one-liners and cameos here. Neighbours fanatical about the size and positioning of light-up reindeer, desperate to win the cookie competition or who builds the biggest snowman are exaggerated - but maybe not all that much...
