A True Satire

I just recently stumbled upon this little gem.Rather than become the thing the film is parodying - "contextualizing" and "tracing historical roots" of this - I just went along for the ride.It's short and sweet which makes it more interesting. The production values are spare, each character is believable and it operates in its own ecosystem which makes the whole film a tight package.The question of what makes art "Art" is an old one. This doesn't take on the entire NYC art scene/culture/whatever. It presents the viewer with an age old situation: what does an artist do when they question what the Art World holds dear - if even for the moment.With this launching point we get one artist's strategy and tactics with predictable and surprising consequences.Worth your time IMHO.
