Entertaining low budget TV movie

Hellfire offers all the worn-out tropes of the man without a name - the unknown avenger, a man who has experienced hardship, pain and personal trauma - who enters a community and finds that justice must be meted out in the only way he knows how (oh, he's ex-Special Forces - how original!) using the deadly skills he's hoping to never use again.Although the story arc is way too familiar, there is some entertainment value here. As to be expected, that entertainment comes from the goodie overcoming the baddies. Key characters are very thinly drawn, just as the cliched plot is, but this movie still offers enough to keep you amused through its too-long running time. And, while great to see the key actors involved, their participation is purely functional - the bought, baddie cop, and the powerful drugs lord. That said, in terms of Hellfire being a TV movie with a limited script, they do what's required of them.Overall, one gets the impression this could be a pilot for a TV series. Perhaps there is actual potential in such a thing, but a greater sense of gritty reality is certainly needed (plus bigger budgets and better scripts!). I rate this 4.5/10 - with 6/10 being my minimum for anything I consider I might like to watch again in the future. So, entertainment to be had, but don't expect anything more than a TV movie.

Classic B- movie

What can one say? No less than 12 production companies joined Mr. Saban and his main production company to finance this strange film. A total of 26 actors, 5 elderly leads over the age of 74 and 85 and two location maybe 3. The post-production was taken to a company in Budapest to receive tax refunds, a partnership in production at a cheap Eastern European price and this is the result you got on the screen. What can one say? A bleak future for the American film industry that they have to fend for themselves like this. The film itself? 6 Generously, don't expect some hysterical blockbuster. A college boy's script without much depth and minimal financial investment.

Rather a mess

Not sure where the plot was coming from. Mixture of Rambo, Road House and any Jason Statham film(all the aforementioned films so much better) Very interesting cast, sadly underused (Harvey Keitel )doing what a number of old acters are now doing, just after pay cheque. Stephen Lang is one of the producers, and should no better what makes a B Movie (he has appeared in a good number) Tombstone is a great favourite of mine and it took me around 25 years before I realized Mr Lang was in it. The build up is consistently slow, action is gritty but the script very lack luster. All the main cast have been it far superior films over there careers. This is a real step backwards. If you love B movies, I would give this watch, but lower your expectations'.
