Not what I expected

Germany's "Holt Sh&t!" was a surprise, mostly because I didn't expect a movie about a guy trapped in a porta-potty with such a title not to be a comedy. In addition, I didn't expect it to be reasonably interesting.Thomas Neihaus is on the screen it's entire 90 minutes as an architect who opens the movie after waking up from unconsciousness in a portable toilet that's been turned over, with his right arm impaled on a piece of rebar. Being smart and resourceful, he spends the entire film figuring out ways to extract himself, with Murphy's Law presiding.Neihaus does a nice job, and it's not easy to keep the audience on your side throughout the entire film, especially when you're covered in poop. But other actors are mediocre at best, in particular the bad guy. The ending is excessive and stupid, and should have ended 15 minutes sooner. Another thing that bothered me is that as intelligent as the architect is, how in the world did he not figure out what was really going on?However, I am willing to be generous here, because it was far better than it had a right to be. I actually was going give it a 6 before the interminable ending ruined it. But sadly it did, so I give it a 5/10.

beyond bad

Incoherent, very bad acting, borderline ridiculous, don't waste your time !!Nothing work, everything this person does is stupid, the situation is stupid, the acting is beyon bad. The story, oh my god the story !A lot of time some very short moments are not so bad, very reminiscent of "Evil dead" and the Sam Raimi's style, but so briefly that it really doesn't make this movie better. The gore is maybe the best part of this movie.They could have gone full "Evil dead", with slapstick dark humor and over the top situations but no, instead they stupidly tried to make it realistic and that's where everything fall apart.Everything is boring nothing make sense, even in the stupid universe the story take place.Don't waste your time and watch "Glorious" instead.That's a way better movie with a guy locked in a toilet...

Is this a Lovecraftian movie?

None of the happenings seemed like actually really happenings to me, at least from my personal point of view.Especially the bavarian spoken moments really added it up for me to believe this is not a real world the main character more or less lives in. Despite of the beginning where you have to endure lots of waking up, realizing what is going on and trying to get out of a single metal rod - all of it in this movie seemed lovecraftian to me... Did anything that ever took place in this movie really happen?And while this movie takes place in actually one single place only, it does a good job at doing that. I expected a bit more, to be honest. But none the less, in any way it's worth being given a shot but don't make it your saturday evening with all your friends on the couch movie, unless you want to discuss it after all.
