Huh???

I watched this as I thought I might learn something. But I learned almost nothing about straight actors in gay porn. Part of the problem is some of the straight actors are actually either gay or bisexual. Especially those that say they will continue to have gay sex with men after their porn career although one wants his wife's permission first. A few seem to apologize for enjoying the sex while making gay porn. This documentary gives few actual details about anything. It states that straight actors get more money than gay actors but gives no figures or even percentage. Most don't give much in personal or relevant details. There is very little info about the porn itself. Everyone involved seemed to be with the same production company so that might have limited things further. There is no real nudity at all except some bare butts. 90% of footage shown is men kissing. That got boring real quick but maybe the target audience would appreciate it. It just seemed too much for a documentary.I can't say I learned much of anything from watching. That kind of makes this a poor documentary.

Thoughtful and Interesting

I was honestly surprised that there was only one review (at the time of my reading) and thought that this production deserved better.Okay, I will admit that I started viewing it for the tease and titillation provided by a "forbidden" subject, but I stayed with it having been drawn in by the well-spoken honesty of the actors. It's all too easy to ascribe "bimbo" status to people doing porn, they are by the nature of industry, objectified; but these gentlemen convinced me that they were fairly normal well adjusted and mostly straight. There is, of course, something in a gay viewer that wants their porn icons to be gay as well, so I was not easily won. But I recommend this documentary as proof that most of these fellows are just guys next door (though, I will admit to wishing they lived next door to ME.) Another thing that drew me to this film was its depiction of the porn industry. First, these guy work hard (no pun intended) and the technical and logistical requirements were demanding and complicated. This documentary itself was very well put together blending life stories with daily work using a light, paced format that added to the comfort of a rather difficult subject making it and the men in it real and really interesting. And you don't have to be gay to enjoy it-- though it does help!
