Relentless Nightmare

Ghostland doesn't mess about. Ghostland throws everything in your face and makes it spin. Ghostland is raw, it is gruesome, and it won't let go. The horror isn't so much in whatever is happening, it is in being made so helplessly contained.The performances drive it. Emilia Jones and Crystal Reed give raw horror, so every moment is a believable moment. The antagonists of this movie are gruesome, creepy, and so is this hellish home. The movie continues surprising, games of reality so it keeps your nerves in a constant position of unease.It's not perfect. Some of it is a little too over-the-top, depending on surprise rather than on tension. The film is powerful, though, and it feels hurried in some bits. But it stays in your mind, under your skin in a way in which few horror films can.It's intense, cringeworthy, and unflinchingly captivating. Painful to see, worth it for anyone who hungers for horror unvarnished. 7 of 10.

An interesting blind watch

Underrated

I have never heard anyone speak about this movie, and I was pleasantly surprised. Beth and Vera are two sisters live with their mother and at the start of the film are moving into their late aunts home, stereotypically full of horrible dolls and puzzle mirrors. Beth is a young aspiring horror writer and Vera is her typical teenage older sister, who thinks Beth is weird. An incident occurs where 2 people get into the house and attempt to kidnap the two girls and kill their mother, but the story has lots of plot twists surrounding what actually happened. The film is actually impressively made, the jump scares were executed well and I am honestly shocked that I have never heard about this film, as I would recommend it for any horror fans.
