Deleted user reviews. Bad movie

3⭐ aside from the review deletions and Chan issues. The movie starts out really bad. I hated the montage intro credits scene. Some really bad camera work. But a credits scene is just that. I won't hang my review on how bad that was. Then the next few scenes were terrible. I think what stood out the most were a few of the car action scenes. Which were basically them zooming in a camera on a car's hood while revving engine sounds played. The car scenes were unbelievably bad. Other car scenes looked like CGI, but like BAD CGI. Why? The cars were barely even doing stunts so that makes no sense . It's so bad.On top of that I'm sitting here watching this after recently hearing a terrible quote by Jackie Chan. About not leaving his son any of his fortune, Chan says "If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting mine." And I've heard other poor values about Chan before. I get a bad vibe about him.Well, that's one thing. It's another to see them bleed through into the movie. Like characters with "overly non-sensible ceaseless devotion to honor and family. But I don't think that's the case, actually I didn't find Chan's name in any of the top credits. So what, he's just the producer? I don't know. I think it's lame to insert your name like that into a film's title. Even some of the best most respected masters of film wouldn't stoop so low. I noticed this film was based on a remake done of a 1998 film, "Who Am I" starring Chan. But he doesn't seem to have anything to do with this other than funding it and egotistically slapping his name before the title. But then I second guess that. There are cringe scenes in this that seem like they have Chan's fingerprints all over them. Like cheesy fight moves. Guy on bicycle doing a wheelie rides by 2 baddies and slaps each of them on the face with the tire. Another annoyance was scenes like baddies having flour dumped on them and Blues Clues type of cheesy music plays. Like I get it, it's supposed to be funny... But who's the audience with that music? Pre-schoolers? Very cringe. And that's the cringe that takes my score down to a 3. I should go even lower just for him inserting his name into the film like that. So I was about to give up on this movie 25 minutes or so in. Just as actress Xingtong Yao's character, Tong Xin was being introduced. Her introduction scene had enough to keep me going in the film. And if it weren't for her throughout, carrying this movie, I would have given up. Yao's character is the comic relief. Not only is she hilarious herself, but her writing was done well and it worked. I like a lot of her banter. The main actor (Haixiang W*ng -yes IMBd censorship is THAT unhinged) was also good. Though his scenes didn't benefit from the writing as much. Other acting in the movie was pretty bad. Bad everything else too. Bad camera work. Bad cinematography. Bad stunts. Bad story. Meh music (terrible in parts) Little inspiration. Cringe moments. There were some scenes that had some more depth. Some character development. A couple romantic scenes that were really wholesome and kept the film going just enough to be considered above water. So basically, a terrible movie, some redeeming parts, especially Xingtong Yao's character, Tong Xin. I might actually just recommend Yao's scenes over the movie as a whole. I couldn't find any on YouTube. Someone please make this.

painfully bad

I know its very difficult to decline a favour in Chinese culture, and so we have to deal with a lot of movies where famous actors appear for a bit to help out the son of a cousin or the friend of the uncle or whatever, but i just dont understand why they dont hire somebody who checks and watches the movie before it gets published... this movie is a good example for the situation.. its soo painfully bad, although the beginning is ok, but the storyline just gets more and more ridicolous with every minute...
