Drippingly Saccharine & Uncomfortably Cheesy

I love me some Mister Groban. He is high quality goods. Yes, he had always been a celebrity favorite for me, with a straight angelic voice, some decent acting credentials, and highest marks in the looks department. Stellar star material. Both inside and outside. At least this show would have us believing.A little too much cheese, which if you knew me you would know is saying a lot because cheese is definitely its own food group. Too much focus on trying to seem altruistic, not enough singing! Come on, live adoption on stage? Gimmicky, and not in a great way. The best part was probably near the beginning where he interviewed some children with very targeted interview questions; the result was something from "Kids Say The Darnedest Things"- cute, though staged. After those clips on foster kids, we were expecting that 800 number for adoption and donations to appear before the night was out!
