Finally, it's over

That's how I felt when "Kill Your Lover" was done. I wanted this film to be over with within minutes of it starting, but I hung in there because the majority of the reviews on here encouraged me to. Well, respectfully to those reviewers, I do not agree with your assessment.This is a godawful artsy telling of two unsympathetic people who are in a bad relationship, accentuated with body horror and absolutely insufferable, overly dramatic, endless dialogue about what went wrong. It also includes a couple of really incompetent paramedics.This was a stupid movie. But I give it points for reasonably good production values, okay special effects considering the budget and acceptable acting. But the characters are so frustratingly unpleasant and annoying that I simple did. Not. Care. About them. Why this guy turns into an acid-bleeding freak is only marginally explained in the interminably long ending, and it's ridiculous. And if you like simulated sex, there's an insanely long montage of the couple having it, followed by conversation, followed by more sex, followed by more conversation...that goes on I don't know-9? 10 times? I was so angry I yelled, "Get on with it!" to the TV. It was just that silly-and I'm thinking that's not the reaction the director was going for.All in all, I hate myself for watching this entire thing, but I blame the other reviewers. Therefore I'm writing this to advise you that it's low rating is due to a heck of a lot of people who DIDN'T write one. You have been warned.

Literally, a Toxic relationship movie

I was expecting this to be awful considering the low scores and reviews and I hate most new films, but Kill Your Lover is genuinely an interesting watch, with fine performances and a very realistic look at a relationships from beginning to end. Maybe you would had to have suffered through something similar to see the truth here, but this is a somewhat horror film grounded in reality. In actuality the makers of this film did not need to add the horror element, toxic relationships are horrible all on their own, but the horror element did make this more interesting. The special effects are not top notch and this is not a scary, suspenseful type horror film, it's real life as horror. I liked it.

Very male gaze-y

I do believe that the heterosexual male viewer will be very satisfied with this. There are a lot of scenes that are reminiscent of the 1970s femalebodysploitation types of films that continued during the 80s and 90s. Nothing new here. The male nudity can't compare at all with the female. I cant talk about anything else because i stopped watching but I am sure the heterosexual males will really enjoy seeing the nude woman in sex scenes that never end and even though not fully explicit, they still showed a lot of the female body, so enjoy heterosexual males. I dont know if there is anything more to enjoy apart from that.
