Bafflingly bad greenscreen

The movie isn't any good. It is a cheap "The Shallows" (American version, not the Chinese one), but with two people stuck on a rock rather than one, and an Orca rather than a Great white shark. This movie, however, does have bafflingly poor greenscreen, which was never necessary. You could easily have done those shots outdoors, in a pool on a soundstage, or even with a painted backdrop. But they went with a greenscreen, and sis so poorly. The characters are unlikable, the plot silly, the visuals poor, and there is simply very little good to say out it. I would swim elsewhere.

Killer Whale (2026) - 4/10

The first rule of swimming in an unknown ocean location is simple: **tell others**. Unfortunately, this movie ignores that rule and most others that might have made it interesting. For the majority of its runtime, Killer Whale is just two girls stranded on a rock, staring at water, waiting for something-anything-to happen. The pacing is painfully slow, the tension barely registers, and the story crawls instead of builds. The effects are genuinely bad. Not "charming low-budget" bad-just bad. The scenery looks fake enough that it constantly pulls you out of the movie, and the whale itself never feels remotely convincing. It's hard to feel threatened when you can practically see the green screen seams. To its credit, the acting is fine. No one embarrasses themselves, and the performances do what they can with the material. But fine acting can't save a thin story stretched way past its breaking point. In the end, it feels less like a survival thriller and more like a waiting room with ocean sounds. If you're going to make a movie about isolation, danger, and the sea, you need more than two people on a rock and some questionable CGI.Watchable? Barely. Memorable? Not at all.

Weak. So weak.

Let's face it, some of us expected a new Fall here. A lot of tension, edge of the seat moments, incredible survival instincts and so on.Sadly, this is a green fest filled with flashbacks. Copy-paste the drama from Fall and try to replicate the success.Honestly, for me nothing worked. The orca did not behave like an orca whatsover, the characters did not behave like normal human beings, water wasn't water and so on. Such a strange little movie with so little to offer. No reason to recommend this, it's not cheap, but it is cheap looking.Close to no story, relies mostly on teen drama and the most ferocious orca, always ready to strike when the flashbacks end.Look elsewhere because this is a dud.Cheers!
