This Film is a sad Case

The first 30 minutes of this movie will really captivate your attention. You'll be asking so many questions about "How, why, where when" etc.I genuinely liked the movie up to a certain point, but then the movie just seems to lose itself and a lot of steam. Its hard to tell whether this was supposed to be ONE entire film or an anthology.This movie seems to be a sexually charged, roles are reversed, weird movie, where the writer AND producer wanted you to see the World through a lens where the norm is trash and must die, and the weird (un-colourful) reigns supreme in sex, flesh & death and must remain together because they are somehow special and different.The main issue here, is that within their race for pushing this agenda, the movie (which could have been good) just becomes a mess of ideas where a group of weirdos are trying to portray themselves as heroes to some lost sexual cause.The ending is just a VERY BAD take on the "Triangle" movie from 2009. All very pointless and not explained well enough. This movie could easily have been better with just a LITTLE bit more explaining of the Beast/monster, and how ONE character becomes another etc.I think this film was a wasted opportunity at doing a legit Horror movie. A movie like this probably wouldn't have seen the time of day if it was just a standard Drama.

Trust Me On This!

This film has no idea what it wants to be? It doesn't follow a formula (Which can be a good thing) but in this case it's not. Note to Directors, Stop making films that play to a film school like audience? Viewers discussing your movie because they're excited of the narrative and want to share with others what they saw is perfect, ie: Sinners from Ryan Coogler., but discussions that are begun to try to get some type of understanding because we have no clue of what we just watched?? Not good! And that's what Kryptic is all about, yes there's a baseline narrative but after 5 minutes in you will quickly see it doesn't act as a foundation for the rest of the story? I can't even say it's for the David Lynch crowd because even with his introduction of quirky characters within a tale the story had a followable foundation, this has nothing!? You can take a chance if you want to but I'm telling you outside of the visuals which can be a cross between lurid and gross there is nothing going on here that's remotely identifiable or enjoyable for a horror or Sci fi fan.

Unfathomably dull and boring...

While I had indeed never heard about the 2024 movie "Kryptic", of course I opted to watch it here in 2025 as I had the opportunity to do so. I am a huge horror fan after all. Sure, I sat down to watch "Kryptic" with zero expectations, because I literally didn't know what I was in for, nor what to expect from director Kourtney Roy.Writer Paul Bromley put together a script and storyline that fell short of entertaining me. I was believing this to be a horror movie, and instead I was in for a drama with light horror elements, and that was not really something that entertained me. And I struggled to sit through the 102 minutes that the movie played for. The narrative is slow paced and nothing particularly interesting, much less actually scary, happens as the narrative stumbles onwards.I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in "Kryptic" was fair, despite the fact that the script failed to entertain me.My rating of director Kourtney Roy's 2024 movie "Kryptic" lands on a two out of ten stars. The movie manages to land a two stars rating, instead of a mere one star rating, from me because of the production value, not the entertainment value.
