Life reality.

As much as we want everyone that does the crime to do the time, the sad thing about life reality is some pays for their wrong doings, some walks free. I feel this movie got low rating, it wasn't bad overall. Though, I would have loved everyone that did the crime do the time. Lots of betrayal, greed, lust, corruption too. I enjoyed the movie.

Not really my cup of tea...

Needless to say that I was not familiar with this 2021 drama titled "Le Femme Anjola", from writer Tunde Babalola and director Mildred Okwo, prior to stumbling upon it here in 2025. And since it was a movie that I had neither heard about nor seen before, of course I opted to give it a fair chance and check it out. Truth be told, I virtually had no idea what I was in for here, aside from whatever little information was provided by the synopsis.The storyline in the movie was okay. I mean, it was watchable, but it was hardly a memorable or outstanding narrative. So it wasn't as if writer Tunde Babalola pieced together something extraordinary in "Le Femme Anjola".Given my rather limited exposure to the Nigerian cinema, suffice it to say that I was of course not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Though, I will say that the acting performances were fair.The movie certainly could have benefitted from a more round-handed trim in post-editing, as it was running for 140 minutes, which was just a tad too long for a narrative as uneventful as this was.Now, I am sure that there is an audience out there for a movie such as this. I just happened to not be a part of that particular target audience. The movie was semi-watchable in my opinion, though it is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.My rating of director Mildred Okwo's 2021 movie "Le Femme Anjola" lands on a four out of ten stars.
