Unique and fun

Man in Camo is a film that was able to perfectly encapsulate the personality and spirit of its creator, Ethan Minsker. Its unique stylistic quality really helped it stand out from other other documentaries of a similar autobiographical nature. It was fascinating to hear about his life and artistic journey, and you can feel his personal creativity and punk ethos bleed through every detail of the film. Its incorporation of other forms of art and media, such as paintings, sculptures, and stop motion sequences, made it feel almost like a multimedia project. It was definitely a fun watch, and potentially inspiring for anyone interested in film or art.

Creative and intriguing but came on too strong

I thought the movie was incredibly interesting and kept your attention the entire time. The visuals were creative and fun. The animation coupled with the moving graphics made my eyes not leave the screen. I think the movie came off too strong in the beginning and was hard to adjust to the style, pace, and sounds. Once I adjusted tho, I found myself at the edge of my seat waiting for the next words and visuals since they spoke to me. The movie inspired me to get back into documenting my life and trying to bring creativity into my every day life. While this movie isn't for everyone, the story it portrays and highlights is something everyone can watch and appreciate, use as a form of inspiration.

A Great Introduction to the Works of Ethan Minsker

Ethan's unique style of storytelling & memorable animations is the film's main draw. I know how long the process of animation can be, and it is chock full with these high-effort animations, all of different styles and material.I especially admire Ethan's ability of making a film about himself without it reeking of narcissism. Coming from a film student, I think any budding filmmaker, of any age, should watch it to prove that there is longevity in this art form.What falls short for me is the way the information is portrayed to the audience. It's a little confusing to follow the order of events in his life as you'd imagine they were put together in chronological order, but instead it skips and jumps around. The Man in Camo still walks amongst us today, so it's hard to complain about a lack of an ending.Despite this, I think this is a great introduction into Ethan Minsker's work, and I am interested to watch his past and future projects because of it.
