Marinette is a 2023 French biographical sports drama film written, produced and directed by Virginie Verrier. The film stars Garance Marillier as Marinette Pichon, one of the pioneers of French women's football. It is based on the 2018 autobiography Pichon Ne jamais rien lâcher. He had to leave it at the age of 16 according to the laws of the federation. At home, his mother becomes a victim of his abusive alcoholic father. Marinette does odd jobs before being recruited by the Olympic Women's Soccer Club. She established herself as a talented striker and joined the French women's national football team, but the toxic atmosphere in the group forced her to refuse selection, for which she received a six-month ban.
