A Fabulous Meld of Civil Rights and Sci-Fi

If you want to see a film that is-Historical, topical, powerful, watch MILESTONE.I loved this film. It struck me in my heart.I wasn't quite sure of what I was going to see, yet I was rewarded from the opening scenes.MILESTONE, is a rare combo of Civil Rights and - get this- science fiction! I would not give too much away to say that earth is offered some wonderful things-IF the people of earth can find a way to get along. The action takes place during - I would say probably the late 1940s-1950s. So...Well, we know there will be some challenges, and there are-plenty.Every one of the characters truly believes they are doing what is best for themselves and their families-but where does that leave planet earth??Writer, Director Andre Phillip Coleman, has gathered a really talented group of actors to tell a powerful story. Each one adds a unique angle to the events. As a scifi fan, I was intrigued. As a black female of a somewhat sage age, I was drawn in and MILESTONE would not let me go.This is a film well worth a watch-or two!I want more. MUCH more! Yes. I loved it.

POWERFUL MIX OF ALTERNATE HISTORY & SCIFI

"Milestone" is a remarkable faux documentary that puts a bold and riveting new spin on the race riots of the Los Angeles area in the late '60s, imagining what if an alien leader arrived proposing a path to peace. Can the people of this small Los Angeles suburb bridge the divide? Or are they too entrenched in their views to come together?Writer-director Andre Coleman draws strong performances in the interview segments, nails the special effects, and has a script that will draw you in completely. His use of "historic" footage and photos is superb. This is one hell of a good watch! "Milestone" will fascinate any viewer looking for a fresh, complez tale.
