What a beautiful film, a necessary parallel between the contemporary world and the good deeds of Mother Teresa, the young woman and her questioning about why abortion is not legalized and a mortal sin (with the pun on sin, which I also support, although I would not do it)... The technical quality was lacking, but the courage is admirable and the message conveyed successfully, in addition to information for donations..."Those brought to the home received medical attention and the opportunity to die with dignity, according to their faith: Muslims were to read the Koran, Hindus were given water from the Ganges and Catholics were given extreme unction. "A beautiful death," said Mother Teresa, "is for people who have lived like animals to die like angels - loved and desired.""Mother Teresa of Calcutta, one of the few canonized saints of our day, is discovered through the eyes of Kavita, a young Englishwoman abandoned by her boyfriend after she's found to be pregnant. Kavita journeys to Calcutta to escape her pain and soon discovers that even holy people like Mother Teresa have to face life's challenges and, in fact, struggle through years of spiritual crisis known as the "dark night of the soul". Inspired by Teresa's example of perseverance and compassionate love, Kavita rediscovers hope and purpose.

Gives some dimension to the work of Mother Teresa

Overall, a very good movie and reason to go back to the theater!The filming itself could use editing and there were moments that were contrived, however it touched on serious subjects and did a good job of portraying these issues from many angles. It was not predictable though at times I feared it was going to be.Though the movie is hardly a documentary, it still serves as a strong vehicle for the conditions that existed in India during the rise of Mother Teresa and even today. And as such, it is very moving and educational. The live action is much more powerful than any still photos could ever convey.It was provocative in a good way-- we discussed it for quite a while. And it is important to watch the film past all the credits to see some out-takes from the filming and some commentary from the actors and director. The casting found amazing people to play some of the parts, I think many were local people.Go see this movie, it is a great alternative to all the super-hero and just plain Hollywood-ized stuff being produced in the USA.

Oh dear

The casting is so strange. The woman from eastenders is a dreadful over acting actress at the most of times. Her boyfriend is decidedly chubby for a rock star I mean come on. And do we not all know by now the rather unseemly truth about mother Theresa if not let's educate ourselves she was no saint.
