I saw this on a coach in Australia

Saw it on a coach, I fondly remembered Young Einstein and it hitting at the right moment, this just felt a bit tired in execution, I know the film is coming from a good place, and maybe the plot would of worked if it had more going beneath the surface instead of everything being a setup for the next gag, the "deer in a headlights" performances can be charming but it wore thin pretty quickly.Production value was pretty decent though and I can't fault them for not trying.The characters overall varied and they did not cut corners on sets and production design.The writing was just bad, I think it needed a way better plot, I wanted to like it but I maybe laughed one time while he was digging around in the pit, needs an edit maybe it could work better, its an interesting production all the same, if any credit could be given it would be for trying to be original with an old premise in an Australian setting.Run time was to long and getting through the story felt badly paced, I really think and edit on a montage or two maybe with a good Crowded House tune might have helped to charm it along better not sure what would have worked but it felt like it had a lot of the right ingedients it was just badly put together, maybe they did not know what they had in the edit, but what they ended up with sadly was a bit meh.
